New Town Time Line

Redditch was designated as a new town in 1964, but, unlike many new town, the town already had a population of 24,000 and a history stretching back to the 12th century.

However, from 1964 to 1985 saw one of the most significant periods of change in the town’s history and this time line highlights the key steps in this change.
